Spinnaker Tower
The Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth is without doubt the most iconic structure of the 21st century in town. Now sponsored by Emirates airline, this landmark is a one attraction that will please most with a head for heights. For a start you can tackle the glass floor on the first deck to look down almost 100 metres below your feet and finish up abseiling its main body. The design is meant to represent a sail owing to Portsmouth's rich maritime history. By night it glows brilliant blue in tune with the sea and deep blue sky on bright sunny days. On balance it could easily be compared to The Burj Al Arab in Dubai in appearance. There is also a café and observation deck offering birds eye views to Portsmouth Harbour and across to The Isle of Wight. Tickets to the decks start at £9.90. Additionally they can be purchased as a joint ticket to enter other attractions of Portsmouth such as The Mary Rose Museum and/or The Historic Dockyard. Book well in advance for tickets for abseiling. Like with most sights of this nature they stick on an extra £30 for photos and video footage. #familyfriendly #funforteens
