Satchinez Bird Reserve is undeveloped swampland placed approximately 25 km north of Timişoara. Due to demands of farming the area is not the size it once was. Only about 100 hectares of protected marshland remain. It's dubbed the Delta Danube of the Banat region and coming here you can see why. 150 species of bird have been recorded including many species of herons and egrets. I was lent a bicycle from a local of the village to get here before becoming part of the quietude that bestowed the reserve. Besides a couple of anglers and passing tractors, there was no presence of anything but birds and aquatic nature. #birds #reserve #free #views #nature
