There are a couple of hills overlooking Ajakkajärvi (Ajakka lake) and scaling it was a great start to my first week in Northern Finland. The weather could not have been much better in terms of the light and atmospheric conditions. I scaled the slope in less than an hour on snowshoes and reached the top overlooking the border with Russia.
