Lisbon Oceanarium is one of the five largest aquariums in Europe. It is situated in a body of water on the bank of The River Tagus. The building is distinctive; denoted by its exterior stairways and stylish glass, parasol style roofs. The place is quite talked up, and conveniently positioned three metro stops at Oriente (red line), from the international airport. The Antarctic section was super cool (excuse the pun), especially after skimming past the artificial iceberg and sea otters. The almost two hours I had spent in the aquarium could have easily stretched to three or four. As for the café next door, it was perfect for a light refreshment. Its decor and fixings were all designed in tune and coeval with the oceanarium itself. Entrance for adults costs 18€ and there are lockers for those with rucksacks and small luggage.
