Triberg is an uplifting place to base yourself on any visit to the black forest. The town not only prides itself of having the second oldest church in the Black Forest but one of the highest waterfalls in Germany at 163 metres. The main street running down it is charming, lined by a number of excellent souvenir shops selling cuckoo clocks. Whilst the town is quite touristy it's got a great atmosphere on sunny days and it's not difficult to strike up conversation with locals and tourists alike as we did.
