Baiterek Tower
Bayterek Tower is one of the extravagant projects achieved by the British architect Norman Foster in 2002 based on an idea of the first President of Kazakhstan. The legend says that Nursultan Nazarbaiev would have drawn the first sketch of the tower on a napkin...
It's 105 meters high and you can take an elevator (for 700 tenge) to go on the top and enjoy a panoramic view of the city. I recommend going there for sunset and then watch the city full of lights.
In the center of the top floor, there is a print of the first President's hand on a 2 kilos plate made of gold.
There is a cafe on the top floor and a souvenir shop next to the exit.
There are controls before you can enter, with an x ray machine like at the airport. Guards are nice though, they kept my pocket knife with them during my visit and gave it back to me when I left :)
