Mikyna Coffee & Food Point
Mikyna prides itself on mouthwatering, elaborately decorated cakes and fresh homemade dishes, prepared daily. Its whitewashed walls and simple design sets the tone for some comfortable sipping and slurping their range of soups and freshly ground coffee. The coffee on offer is without doubt the one of the stars of the show. In accordance with their philosophy management don't change the coffee much due to the idea that knowing how to prepare one well, is quite enough. The soup of the day, cream of parsely, was thick and creamy. It was generously seasoned with thyme and a sprinkling of sesame seeds; a perfect antidote for a nippy Bohemian winter. For 45 CZK the dish was nothing but good value and healthy. The café also sells chlebíčky (traditional Czech open sandwiches), with toppings such as egg mayo or cream cheese and chive. It is all too easy to devour these small yet scrumptious delights in the matter of a minute at 25 CZK a piece. Mikyna, which can seat approximately 30 people, gets busy during weekends and draws a crowd of mainly locals all ages. Staff are happy to speak English and provide a good level of customer service. Opening times: 8am - 7pm from Monday to Friday; 9am - 7pm on Saturdays; 10am - 6pm on Sundays. Location: 5. května 62/46, Staré Město, 460 01 Liberec, The Czech Republic #free-wifi #coffee #lunch
