Long Phung - Vietnamese Cuisine
Long Phung Vietnamese Restaurant at Joo Chiat is a regular place to catch our occasional supper or very late dinner. We tried one or two different Vietnamese restaurants in the past but stick back to Long Phung for its consistent tasty offering. My staples here are fried pigeon and pho in soup. I think many would agree with our taste as this place is still full at the after-lunch hour at 2pm! Night time here is vibrant with some sleaze thrown in. There are no lack of budget hotels, pubs and nondescript restaurants here. Each time we would see men sprawl along the corridor, smoking and drinking as they try to outdo each other in volume and expletives. Exploring Joo Chiat in the day can be refreshing. There is a very laidback and charming vibe under the bright daylight. You can catch the interesting Peranakan tiles left from remnant days and some interesting features include a shop selling eco-friendly dog food (I’m just not sure my dogs will agree to this even though I am fully supportive), a Muay Thai boxing school with a boxing ring in full view within the compound and a vegan restaurant serving its rendition of local flavours. #dinner #supper #lunch #joochiat #vietnamese #food #foodietour
