Newton Food Centre may have gotten a bad name in the past but we still find this place a good option to satisfy our tummies. It is centrally located and has enough varieties to satisfy any cravings. We have our favorite stalls though, the fish porridge, popiah (our local version of spring roll) and fried oyster and carrot cake (local version again of course!) are on our list. The oyster stall in particular, can have a waiting time of up to 30 minutes on busy days. Some say the food price here is more expensive than other food centres though this is still considered reasonable compared to cafes and eateries.
