Jing Yan Temple
Buddhism was brought to China in the first century and grew exponentially for 500 years. Jing Yan Temple is a testament to its growth and development of wood block printing. Buddhist monks needed a way of reading and reciting large volumes of data from pictures, which resulted in large volumes of data being recorded on to scripts. Any visit to the temple is free. The monks seem as established as the buildings themselves and make you feel welcome in their compound.
