Biking around the old city is the best way to get around Chiang Mai. Better yet, the city has invested in a bike sharing program that makes it easy and free if you have a Thai telephone number (SIM cards cost about 60 baht). When you find a bike you can use the app to unlock it remotely and then leave it anywhere! THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO SEE THE CITY THIS WAY.
