When people go to the Great Wall people usually go to a restored section that was rebuilt in the 70s from nice new bricks and stairs (albeit steep ones). I highly suggest going for a hike on an unrestored section where the Wall is how it was however many dynasties ago. You’re likely to have the place to yourself and it’s like hiking on a proper trail through wilderness. There are many unrestored sections to choose. I suggest hiring a driver that will get you there early and knows good spots where you can hike for a whole day #history #free
