Abandoned for thousands of years Hagar Qim was brought to light in 1839. The tent like canopy over these megalithic stones, weighing approximately 20 tonnes each, protect the site from weathering. It's hard to believe that this archaeological site predates the Pyramids of Egypt, stemming back for more than 5000 years. Access to the museum and two locations under the metal canopies cost 10 euros to enter.
