Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum
The Carpet Museum doesn't need a sign over the door to clarify its purpose when the structure speaks volumes. It is unique artistry and design. Shaped like a giant carpet, Baku's Carpet Museum is a very photogenic attraction. Inside are rugs from the 17th century, besides 14th century ceramics and jewellery from the Bronze Age. Entrance is seven local manat (3.5€) and is placed on the main boulevard close to the old town. Carpets make not be your top choice of places to visit. That aside you can cool off in here during sweltering summer months before hitting other attractions close by. Staff could be more obliging and availing a guide is advised. Doing without one may leave you with many unanswered questions about the history of carpet making. #carpets #art #history #gallery
