At the end of a wooded approach lined with chestnut trees sits the Church of the Mother of God. The church was constructed in 1907 after a cross was erected at the source of a newly found spring. Since then stone crosses line the footpath leading up to the church. Legend has it that the spring water had healing properties. The church lies in the northern reaches of Liberc in the district of Ruprechtice. It is conveniently positioned on along a blue hiking trail, which penetrates deep into the Jizera Mountains further east. Getting here from the centre involves jumping on bus 18 from the centre at Fügnerova. #spring #crosses #history #architecture
