I really enjoyed coming here. The greenbelt flanking picturesque West Lake offers a different dimension to the city. It is famed for the Longjing (Dragonwell) tea, which in fact is one of China's most popular and venerable types. Whilst the core protected zone and village only covers a few square kilometres the broader production zones span literally thousands of hectares. My early visit before tea harvesting was no less dampened by the lack of production. Owing to the pleasing perspectives of the city from a distance and impressive museum, free to enter, I was quite content. Designed like giant tea leaves, even the bins added charm and getting up close to the tea bushes was enough to quiet my curiosity on this visit. #tea #teaplantation #china #museum #free
