Plaza Sucre is a sweet little square, though the thing that makes it an absolute must visit is the unlikely pink building sitting next to it. San Pedro Prison, made infamous by "Marching Powder", is the minimum security prison in which prisoners live in a working community, along with their families, having jobs, paying rent or suffering in poverty. After the book's popularity soared, so did demand for tours of the prison and, after some gruesome incidents, tourists were banned from entering.
