Only 15 minutes by train from Malmö lies the adorable university town of Lund. The Romanesque cathedral is at the center of it all and is a sight to behold. It houses an incredible astronomical clock with its sword-striking, wooden figures packing the tourists in daily at noon and 3:00 when they take a turn around the top. The other big draw is the Kulturen, an open air museum featuring various examples of Swedish buildings. Many contain interesting historic and cultural exhibits and there are plenty of activities and sights to keep the kids excited. Then spend some time wandering the cobblestone streets, popping into the antique shops, sipping coffee in the cute cafes, partaking of the excellent dining options, exploring the botanical gardens and you’ve got yourself one outstanding day trip!
