Approximately ten kilometres out of Havličkuv Brod, slung in the middle of countryside is a converted nineteenth century château. Bought recently by an entrepreneur, it was renovated and is currently undergoing further restorations as a warm and welcoming boutique hotel. At the time of writing the hotel has a sumptuous interior focusing on comfort and cleanliness down to every detail. From the one-foot mattress in the bedrooms to views inviting you to the private garden out the back, the stay is nothing but relaxing in every sense. There is nothing to do here – and that's the beauty of it. With no distractions you can simply relax in the front garden sipping fine drinks in the front-facing garden and delectable elevated Czech cooking. Breakfast balanced style and flavour with their silky scrambled eggs freshly baked pastries great coffee. I appreciated that food was freshly prepared to order rather than sitting out buffet-style under-heat lamps.
