A monument defining a central axis for Central European Time can be found in this very spot and its history is anchored to Nazi Germany. This reference to the line of longitude, unlike the Greenwich Meridian, is far from elaborate however. On balance, the park in which it lies - Stadtpark - is peaceful, undervisited and great to stroll around.
