While in Riga, you HAVE to visit the Central Markets - they are the biggest in Europe and are now UNESCO listed. Although the shopping is fabulous, and I'd strongly recommend you buy at least a punnet of the seasonal fruit (I was sticky with raspberries before long!), it's the history which fascinates me.
