Horikiri iris garden
The Horikiri Shobuen Iris Garden in a quiet corner of suburban Tokyo has over 200 varieties of iris in vivid shades of white, pink, purple and magenta. Irises have been grown here for several hundred years, and Horikiri featured in the One Hundred Famous Views of Edo painted by famous artist Hiroshige Utagawa in the 1850s. While the garden has other flowers including wisteria, cherry blossom, peonies and hydrangeas, it is most beautiful in June when the irises flower. #tokyo #irises #garden
