Hexagonal Temple
Rokkakudo (the hexagonal temple) lies in the north-western corner of the Sensoji grounds, away from the busy crowds surrounding the main ,hall. This is the oldest wooden building in Tokyo, built in 1618, and it has survived earthquakes, fires and war while other surrounding buildings have been destroyed. The western side of Sensoji has a pretty garden with a stone bridge that is also several hundred years old. It’s a very pleasant place for a walk. #tokyo #temple #history
