Visit a shrine in the day. There is something so surreal and calming within the sacred compound of a shrine, which draws me back time and time again. Though in general, I would say that I find the parks and any places of worship in Japan to exude that otherworldly charm, this effect is especially prominent in a Shinto shrine.
