Liulichang
Giant sheep hair paintbrushes dangle outside shop windows, while inside you can find #paintings and #calligraphy from wall to wall. Liulichang was once the site for a venerable glazed tile factory during the Yuan and Ming dynasties (1271-1644), and since then has transformed into an 800 metre stretch of ateliers and galleries for traditional #art. As an art supply locality, you can find tons of paintings and calligraphy as well as #jade stamps and fanciful ink slabs. It’s also a great place to see art in action: when I visited I accidentally stepped into a child’s calligraphy class, as well as other painters painting fans and the inside of snuff boxes. #souvenirs #gallery
