National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine
Pirogovo Open-Air Museum on the southern most reaches of the city is a way to destress from frenetic urban life. Tension sheds off you when you are here and the fluffy, green hillocks, immensely charming, wooden churches and windmills interspersed with stone cottages make for some top-notch photography.
During Easter, painted garage-size eggs are dotted around the park whist traditional onstage performances reverberate through.
Directions: Take the blue line 2 metro to Ipodrom and exit via Vasylia Kasiiana St. Walk 3 minutes to the Ipodrom bus station and jump on bus 11 towards Derzhavnyi Muzei narodnoi arkhitektury ta pobutu (9 stops). When you spot the green OKKO gas station, get off and walk towards it. From there it's about a 15 minute walk to the entrance of the museum keeping the highway on your right.
