Flag Rock Bastion | Galle Dutch Fort
I spent the afternoon at the end of the port at Flag Rock Bastion. The small jut of land large enough to house a small 4 seater glider attracts romancing couples and tourists. Apparently, the best place in town to see a sunset and rightly so. During Dutch rule the bastion and adjoining walls were created and later fortified by the British at the end of the eighteenth century. The walls and backdrop of the sun flooded sky make for some first rate selfies but take caution to not fall into the sea. There can be some jagged rocks below, many of which are not visible from above. #views #free #architecture
