Ruka Village is a well-known, compact ski-resort some 26 kilometres north by road from the town of Kuusamo. In my view the place holds more charm than the town owing to its surrounding slopes and activity. Visitors are merited with a ski lift moments from their accommodation without the hassle of crossing any roads. In summer you can swim or canoe on one of the many lakes scattered around the area. At its heart is an observation tower, shaped a bit like a giant red merry-go-round, enclosed by various western style bars and restaurants. #skiresort #hotel #restaurants #bars #scenic
