Google "Copenhagen" and I assure you tons of pictures of Nyhavn will appear. No, not all the city is like this (but all the city is beautiful) and yes, it is worth it. The place looks like it was taken from a fairytale, it's colorful and vibrant. There are a lot of great places to eat here, right next to the canal.
