The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace
The gardens are on the former site of Edo Castle, the forerunner to today’s Imperial Palace. To enter the gardens, you cross the castle moat and enter through a massive gate. Inside the castle walls, the gardens contain trees from every prefecture in Japan, bamboo and an ever changing display of seasonal flowers and foliage. The Honmaru lawn is popular for cherry blossom viewing during spring while the Ninomaru is a traditional Japanese garden. #tokyo #castle #gardens
