The Scholz House
This house is a rose between the thorns among the surrounding modernist architecture. It dates from 18th century and now belongs to the Jizera Mountain Protected Landscape Area association. The high angled, shingle roof, dormers and pretty white window frames are a start contrast to the multistorey administrative offices close by.
In its heyday it operated as another centre for canvas production under the owner Jan Šolc, in 1771. The black, timber house was purposefully built on the banks of the river Nisa, allowing easy access to water.
