Alaturka Mediterranean & Turkish Restaurant
Arab Street district is within walking distance from Golden Mile Complex and closer to city centre. This precinct is known for late night entertainment and the roads are close to traffic on weekends, making it gratifying for pedestrians and diners for an al fresco experience. I used to enjoy night shopping here
where you can explore cultural Arab Street to the hip Haji Lane area, and the shops open late for the night owls. The energy is definitely different on a weekend night where the crowd flock to this place in search of good food and music. The only thing I miss now is the shisha (the government bans it from 2016). When I am here, I usually opt for Alaturka restaurant for their Mediterranean offering and now, it even offers al fresco dining which can be enjoyable if you are with a large group of friends or family. I
like to go for its grilled kebab platter and hot appetisers though like in all other restaurants I have listed on this food tour, there are plenty of choices from meat, vegetables to seafood depending on your preference that day. The standards can vary though it did make its way into the Michelin Guide 2016. I am hopeful it will make its way back into the guide once more.
