Church of St. Anthony the Great
The Church of St. Anthony the Great is a neo-gothic church standing on the site of a former 14th century wooden church. Over history it has been rebuilt and reconstructed. These have been a result of Swedish skirmishes in the Thirty Years' War and multiple episodes of lightening strikes in the 16th century. Renovations began again in 1859 and over time alters, bells were added and windows replaced giving it its present appearance. The church is without doubt the centre piece of Liberec. Its tower can be spotted from various streets in town or from clefts in the surrounding forests. #church #neo-gothic #architecture #history
