Locals’ Shanghainese favorite also includes Xiao Long Bao. They are bite size soup dumplings that originated from the Shanghai region, steamed in groups of 5 in a large bamboo steam case. It’s difficult to find good xiao long bao, for the perfectly made skin with lots of soup and a good portion of fillings that melt in the mouth. For Hong Kong’s best, head to Din Tai Fung in Causeway Bay.
