Elk Prairie Campground
As you make your way up to the Redwood National Forest, stop at one of only two female-owned breweries in Humboldt County, the Lost Coast Brewery. Now once you get to Elk Prairie Campground, you’ll find yourself completely in nature. There are nearby open meadows with roaming elk around as well as a spacious park for ample time to relax. Most of the campsites here sit beneath breathtaking redwoods with plenty of activities offered at the campgrounds. Biking and hiking among redwoods is a one-of-a-kind experience and is an activity most people come here to do. Take a bike ride through the Ossaga Trail, a 19 mile trek that takes you through the forest and out to the beach and back. If you feel like hiking, take the Irvine trail to Fern Canyon and Gold’s Bluffs Beach. The sights are unbelievable— making for a true Redwoods experience.
