嫣裳記旗袍店 Yan Shang Kee Qipao
The traditional qipao originates from 1940 Shanghai. In 1949, Shanghai tailors fled to Hong Kong after the communist revolution, bringing alongside their craftsmanship to the city. Slender and tight fitting around the bust and waist and a slit along the thighs were redesigns that Hong Kong popularized. Only a handful of tailors still exist in the city, and merely a few hosts rentals. Yan Shang Kee is one of them. Handmade with fabric sourced from China and Japan, Yan Shang Kee has a range of qipaos adorned in beautiful patterns and simplistic cheongsam for the men. #fashion #qipao #hongkong #culture #travelinstyle #oldfashion #traditional #nostalgia #traveldeeper
