Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum
This wide ranging collection, housed in a 19th century building styled after a Venetian palace, is sure to delight any art lover. The assemblage highlights everything from poignant 12th century German sculpture, to the technical mastery of the Flemish greats, through the provocative genius of modern painters like Otto Dix and Max Beckmann, and many other great works along the way. The cool and creepy “Dance of Death” sculptures are the most macabre attraction and alone worth the price of admission.
