Merano
Merano stands out for its large parks and green walks, botanical gardens and numerous waterways. Pervaded by a refined and welcoming atmosphere, the historic center conquers visitors with its medieval arcades and elegant Art Nouveau buildings.
The white peaks of the glaciers offer a natural setting of rare beauty, enhancing the intertwining of the city walks and the palm trees that line them, creating a happy contrast with the exotic plants of the wonderful Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle.
Equally varied is the cultural program which also includes food and wine festivals such as the Merano Spring and the Grape Festival, the Merano Music Weeks, the Merano WineFestival and the Merano Christmas Markets.
Be sure to have enough time to visit this city if you are in Alto Adige, the Italian region hosting this German culture but double language city.
