The beaches at Big Sur are some of the most beautiful in California, and Pfeiffer Beach is undoubtedly one of the best. Hidden off an unmarked residential road (called Sycamore Road on your GPS) branching off Highway 1, it can be quite hard to find, but it's worth it for the streaks of purple, garnet-richvsand and the stunning keyhole arches.
