Hutongs are traditional courtyard residences found around the center of the city. Characterized by narrow streets and alleys the government has demolished a lot of them but some are being preserved now and they’re great to have a stroll in and check out what’s going on; antique and art shops, trendy restaurants and hotels, and just people living their life. It seems very quaint in one of the most populous cities in the world. #free #architecture #art #hotel
