ART CAFÉ LÁZNĚ
Art Café Lázně is one of those places that everyone knows about but never visits. Attached to the National Art Gallery the place offers visitors fresh coffee, ice-creams, cakes, bottled beers and wines. The Veltlínské zelené is most palatable and begins at 18 CZK for a small glass.
The café is set in a bright and airy section of the former Liberec Bathhouse; now part of the museum. Its contemporary design, high roof, among the black and white photos of how the building looked give it that polished, cool look.
The herbal teas and Belgium hot chocolates are also a unique addition to café culture in Liberec, allowing guests to chose from a range of flavours. Chocolate drinks are presented with a stick of natural chocolate and dissolved in hot milk with flavours ranging from hazelnut, orange, milk, caramel, coconut, white chocolate and vanilla.
In spring and summer, tables and chairs are lined up beside a ramp on the patio outside. Hemmed in by a small evergreen, it offers privacy from the tram line, whilst offering pleasant views of probably the most beautiful street in town.
During some weekends small concerts take place in a spacious room annexed to the seating area of the café itself.
