Devil's Head
These sandstone reliefs, dubbed The Devil Heads and measuring nine metres high date back to the mid nineteenth century. The sculptor Václav Levý took to carving from a young age and these exhibits are perhaps his most impressive. Over time these structures have weathered adding not merely a sense of distortion but something that gives them a more demonic edge.
The heads can be reached from various footpaths leading up from the village of Želízy. Getting there is just the start of many other eldritch rock formations in the vicinity.
