Above Locarno, in Orselina, is the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Sasso, whose foundation refers to a Marian apparition. It is the main tourist attraction of Locarno, with fantastic views over the city, the lake and the mountains. For the more sporty, however, during the winter it is possible to reach Cardada, a well-known ski resort where you can make long descents on gentle slopes while admiring breathtaking views.
