Piazzetta Garibaldi
If there is anywhere that you can appoint for the centre of San Marino's capital then this square wouldn't be far off. It's somewhat difficult to pinpoint where the heart of the city actually is however, especially as the entire town is set among switchback lanes.
On a plinth is the bust of Giuseppe Garibaldi who was given asylum by the country. Being a revolutionary, he allowed San Marino to continue its independence and in turn a tribute to this moment stands in memory here.
I sunk a bottle of wine, local cheese and cured ham on this square, in a chic little wine bar.
