Another splendid 18th century 'church' in Timişoara is that of Serbian Orthodox Cathedral. Its purpose as a religious centre of Serbs has played an important role in town since its construction in 1748. In terms of how ornate this is, it is without doubt one of the best examples in the city. Glancing up at the small towers, bells and detail around the window frames is a sight to behold. Gold, crystal and stone are all fundamental elements of this building that give it grandiosity as much inside as out.
