Another notable town on the banks of a a lake is the golden ring town of Pereslavl-Zalessky. Seeing the stagnant beauty contained on a small rise of land from the roadside is as defining a moment as anywhere else on my trip. The ramshackle cottages flanked by the kremin walls in the backdrop leave me with another lasting impression of contrasts that Russia does so well. #free #art #architecture
