Running off the famous Hefang St. in Hangzhou lies the Donghe River. It cuts through a traditional residential district known throughout Beijing as a hutong. You can glide down the waterway in an old-fashioned style canal boat whilst watching how urban living blends respectively into tai chi artists performing in parks and pavilions nestled on the banks. The fee for a ride one way is an absolute steal.
