Suchitoto was our first stop in El Salvador - and it was Semana Santa! The Holy Week is a very special time to visit any city or town in Central America and Suchi was no exception. Parades, woodchip art work on the streets and music surrounded us throughout our time there. The town is home to plenty of beautiful Spanish colonial architecture, papuserias, adorable little casas and exceptionally friendly people. It is very close to a beautiful big lake, making Suchi a very popular domestic tourist destination, but it is fairly untouched by international tourism.
