Java-eiland
Java-eiland is a little off the beaten track in this city and what I respected about it is its story. During the Dutch occupation of Indonesia this part was prosperous with a regular shipping route operating from here. After The Second World War life almost ground to a halt and later it attracted squatters. Now it has a new lease of life boasting a new residential district. Its character has been kept and there's a chic four star hotel themed on Indonesian style.
The quiet streets and tasteful facades would make anyone reconnoitering this district realise what a fitting place it would be to reside.
