Hospoda domov
Hospoda Domov is a well-known restaurant among locals of Liberec and its reputation over the years has done it justice. The establishment serves Czech food as well as some fish dishes and pastas. I had the roast fillet of trout which was pretty tasty. There is adequate space between the tables and this adds to its relaxed yet formal atmosphere. Staff are polite. My only minor gripe was that food took a little longer than expected to arrive; not an uncommon trend I've noticed whilst living in Liberec. In addition to the à la carte you can delve into the five course tasting menu for 998 Kč. As an alternative one can also select the Hot stone available from 6-10pm, except Sunday evening when the restaurant is closed. This enables you to choose from three different kinds of meat to cook yourself for 598 Kč and comes with a variety of side dishes to opt for. Four glasses of wine, two mains and sides plus a moreish, chocolate fondant came to 822 Kč. Getting here requires a little time, especially given the fact it's on the edge of town overshadowed by Ještěd Tower. Tram no. 3 from Fügnerova, in the town centre, will take you right outside the restaurant on its last stop at Horní Hanychov. It is advised to book ahead if coming at the weekend.
